Hello, I just found out about custom characters for epic duels and ordered some miniatures including shaak-ti. I see other pdfs available on the pbworks page, but I can never find links to your pdfs. Is there a big lists of just your pdfs somewhere, or am I just not seeing them on each character website.
Hi Silas, sorry you’re having trouble finding the links. You have to go to the individual deck pages, there are kind of a lot of them. Go to the “Epic Duels” part of the site (hamburger menu or top right menu) and from the Epic Duels page go the Epic Duels Decks page, or use the link below.

I’ll be honest, when I first saw you mention somewhere that Roman wasn’t your real name my mind was blown. 😛
Anyway, your reasons for using “Roman” are basically the same as why I use “JAG”, but my attempts to make it my internet profile kind of fell apart when I kept using my real name on Youtube.
I’ll keep calling you Roman, not because I have anything against the name “John”, which I think is a good name, after all it’s my name too! 🙂
Very interesting. I knew it was related to a film but thought it was some sort of youth hostel travelogue type thing. And I thought Roman Farraday was a pun on “Roamin’ Far in a day”
I see under your Finn and Poe deck that you guys use a monopoly figure for Finn. Do you know of any miniatures that’d work for Finn? I usually buy figures off of ebay so I don’t know what all is out there for miniatures.
For those last 2 slots, I made my own cards. I used 3 Prince of Men which allow all allies to heal 1hp, draw 1 card and be moved 1 space each. Then I gave Isildur some enchanted armor with a defense of 7 and a way to draw while avoiding every 3 damage.

Hi! There has been discussion in my circle as to whether or not DOMINATION was intended to include non-actions as part of its play; for example, if I am Sly and I play DOMINATION on the original Darth Maul, who has a handful of non-actions in his hand, could I just play all of his non-actions and then finally play a card that counts as an action to finish off this use of DOMINATION, or would those cards be off-limits to me, as they are non-actions? To circumvent this debate, I printed out a DOMINATION card with modified text which reads “You may play 1 card…” rather than “You may take 1 action…”, as I feel it’s more fair. Nevertheless, some debate rages on, so I wanted to obtain an opinion from you guys. Thanks!
Hi Jimbo, thanks for the question. I like your wording “play 1 card” better than the current wording because it gets confusing as to how many actions using DOMINATION requires, which is just one, not an additional one for the card you play. There would be no real advantage to using a non-action card except that it takes it away from that player.
I like Jimbo’s wording too and recommend (if changing it is being considered) something like: “Choose a player to reveal his/her hand. Choose one of the cards you see. You may play that card using that character who can attack allies this turn.”
Also, am I seeing things or is Sly Moore now a core deck?
As far as “core” goes… it’s sort of losing it’s distinction. The new visual layout (any feedback on that?) works better with 2 more decks among the “core” so I moved up Sly and Luke Rebel Commando with the idea that these both are pretty standard decks, both have gotten some use and feedback over the years, and both are fairly balanced. I’d call them “finished” but decks are never really finished.
Ah, I see. Concerning the layout, I don’t really have an opinion about it one way or the other; It certainly looks more impressive visually. Speaking as someone who remembers when typing in “geektopia.info” bought you to a grey page of red text links, I’ve learned to adapt.
I will, however, say that if I need to find a deck fast I often need to go to the alphabetical or even the power level list.
Please. Enven left unplayed, a Cassian Andor deck is always worth having, if only for Cassian’s ✨RUGGED REBEL HANDSOMENESS ✨ and that K-2SO SASSY SNIDE SNARK !
Have you guys thought of uploading this to TableTop Simulator? It would be awesome with your collection. The base game is already on there and you could build off that.
Btw I’ve checked in on TTS to see that Epic Duels is indeed set up, and they have the EU and 10YA decks included already, the latter of which includes 4 of our decks. What’s also true is that hardly anyone plays SWED on TTS, so I don’t think it’s worth the time to painstakingly add our entire collection to it.
Hi Nuge, thanks for the suggestion. Epic Duels has a long history on Vassal, where our stuff has always been available, but I didn’t realize someone had set this up on TTS, which is obviously way better. I do have TTS so I’ll look into it, not sure when though.
[…] bringing an actual dinosaur theme park to life. It feels pretty darn cool. You definitely do something in this game. You might even grow your very own Tyrannosaurus […]
Looks like a cool concept. How do you actually play RIDE OF THE ROHIRRIM? With 4 spaces movement it would be possible to move over one enemy charakter several times. I suppose the charaker moved over would only suffer damage once not several times?
The card says “pick a direction” so that you can’t double back, nor can you make a turn.
This is one of my favorite decks. It just sort of came together well, with some really fun combos. If you prefer Star Wars, many of these ideas are in the Enfys Nest deck.
Interesting article. If either of us were less lazy, we could check the actual stats for % funded, which would lend an objective air to our discussion. 😛
I think that KS is certainly becoming more competitive for the mid-tier projects (those needing 7k-20k).
I don’t know if my first project would fund today. How can I?
Most of the backers were either folk I knew or one step removed. I don’t think that would be very different today – I am lucky enough to have some people in my life that were able to spent £12-20 to support me and get a game they might really like.
I asked for £2.7k and only just funded in the final hours. So it was close enough that I might have failed had things been slightly different.
In the end though, does it really matter? If I was coming onto KS today and failed, I’d have tried a 2nd time I think.
General backers are more likely to want a review but I think that’s a great thing. New creators with amazing ideas (that publishers don’t want, or that the creator wants to retain absolute control of) can still get a review from some folk for free. The games will eventually be made.
The real problem is the amount of material waste. With so many thousands of games being created yearly, I despair at the amount of plastic being created and the amount of fuel used to transport those things, only to end up sitting on a shelf.
Ha you at the very least inspired me to play her again next time. Still think she is way better in 2v2 but it is okay that she is not super strong. That fits her character. My group definately is not as concerned about NPE cards like yours. Sure it blows to eat one of those cards sometimes but thats the name of the game. Everybody knows tha Palpi has this card f.e. and you adjust your game to it. I think we love the challange as long as the deck is not way overpowered or unfair.
Again for DOMINATION to really cause game chanving havoc a lot of chips have to fall the right way.
I will let you know how our next game goes with her.
