Minor(s): 2 Clone Troopers

Thanks to R-Valle for the art! This was one of many decks created shortly after Episode III came out. It has always been fun. He’s a Tier 1B deck, not quite Yoda or Sidious, but among the best “bum slayer” decks in the game, in terms of dispensing with weak opposing characters. He can hold his own against strong decks, too.

What does this deck do:  Lots and lots of damage, set up by no action movement, and backed up with solid defense.

Strategy: Can win with straight power but taking damage and healing is strongest maneuver

Inspiration: We were thinking about this deck before Episode 3 came out. When we made this Anakin, we had been playing with a tweaked Vader deck and made this deck a blend of the original Anakin and our old tweaked Vader.

Playing Dark Side Anakin:

• Against most opponents, Anakin is a straightforward sluggo deck with big attacks and defends.
• Anakin’s best game is taking damage early, then healing with SITH RAGE, which often works best against weak minor characters.  Therefore, don’t be afraid to take some damage early, as you have a lot of hit points.
• Keep some Clone Trooper cards handy to discard when you play RELEASE YOUR ANGER.
• DON’T UNDERESTIMATE MY POWER leaves Anakin exposed but is a great finishing card.

Playing against Dark Side Anakin:

• He is pretty straightforward, with big attacks, direct damage he can use at range, and solid defense.
• His defense isn’t great, especially against ranged attackers. If you hit him enough, he will fall, but it’s a fine line since it also lets him heal.  If you have strong defense, like an Obi-Wan type deck, you can probably trade blows better than he can.
• Beware his direct damage.  He can get you at range with it.
• He’s a powerful deck and if he gets a good draw, there’s not a lot you can do.
