Citadels is a fun medieval-themed game of intrigue, where you and your opponents each play a role each turn, hidden from the other characters, and use it to try to advance your agenda. The game is fun but has sort of a shelf life. There is some strategy for sure, but a lot of it comes down to 50/50 guesses that are as much as anything. Furthermore, if you’re out of the game, you can do some specific things to influence the game’s outcome including who wins, which has led to some very upset people in our gaming group. If you can’t get enough of medieval-themed games, this is a quick, fun one in a small box with an easy setup. It has a single expansion, plus a re-edition in 2016, though I haven’t personally seen it.
