We’ve played some version of this deck almost as long as we’ve played Epic Duels and we’ve settled on this one for a while now. We don’t play shooters a ton but we like this one well enough and IG-88 has had some epic games.
IG-88 & BOSSK
by Roman F & Geektopia. Based off of PD Magnus’ Bounty Hunters cards, Pulse Cannon uses Docmogs’ idea.

Blaster
18 cards
Yellow Deck
Bossk
11 HP

Strong Ranged Minor deck
IG-88 – 8 Talent Cards
3x BRISTLING WITH GUNS
A4. IG-88 does 2 damage to all other enemies he can attack.
2x PULSE CANNON
A7. Attack continues in its line of fire to all characters behind the target. Attack value decreases by 2 for each space the attack passes through beyond initial target, and each affected character may defend.
2x GRENADE LAUNCHER
Do 4 damage to any target IG-88 can attack. All characters adjacent to target take 3 damage.
1x FLAMETHROWER
IG-88 does 3 damage to all adjacent enemies. Move each adjacent enemy up to 4 spaces.
Bossk – 4 Talent Cards
2x THRILL OF THE HUNT
A4, if this attack does damage, move target up to 4 spaces.
1x HATRED
A5. All characters take 2 damage besides IG-88 and Bossk.
1x SCOREKEEPER’S REWARD
A7. If target is destroyed, draw 3 cards.
Theme: Damage clusters of opponents
Path to Victory: Either THRILL OF THE HUNT or FLAMETHROWER + either PULSE CANNON or GRENADE LAUNCHER or BRISTLING WITH GUNS
Strengths: High damage output, damages clusters of enemies, strong minor
Weaknesses: Low HP, low defense
Strategy: Make them pay for clustering enemies
Test Level: High
Tier: 3
What does this deck do: Damage to everyone!
Inspiration: As with some others, this was PD’s original creation until we paired them up. Besides BRISTLING WITH GUNS and SCOREKEEPER’S REWARD, very little resembles the old creation.
Playing IG-88 & Bossk: Annoy the opponent into killing Bossk, and finish your opponent off with IG-88. NEVER march IG-88 up unless it’s to kill (not hurt) someone, because his staying power is terrible. It’s tempting to step up with IG-88 to use BRISTLING WITH GUNS and FLAMETHROWER, but don’t do it unless you’re prepared to lose IG-88. Bossk can be pretty nasty if he lives long enough, especially if you can use THRILL OF THE HUNT to set up IG-88’s cluster attacks.
Playing against IG-88 & Bossk: Spread out where possible and be prepared to lose weak minors. If IG-88 steps up, accept the damage he does and retaliate by killing him, as he is one of the easiest majors to kill. Be wary of Bossk’s THRILL OF THE HUNT and its ability to pull your characters into danger. Kill Bossk if you must but staying on IG-88 is the key to beating the deck.
Why you gotta playa hate on IG-88?
One of my absolute favourite decks and my fav bounty hunter deck. Love it.
Thanks! Nice to hear one of the weaker decks is a lot of fun. I agree. As mentioned above, he typically gets killed in a hurry but he’s also had some epic games among our group, which is kind of the perfect bounty hunter deck.
just passing by… still love the deck and thought about reprinting it, so I was thinking if there is something I would change today. Do you think it would be a good idea to just slightly increase their power level by changing to a yellow++ and strong+ deck?
Just a personal thing but I don’t like messing with basic decks without a really compelling reason, and if Yellow is good enough for Boba then it’s good enough for IG-88. I’d be a little more lenient in giving Bossk an A5. If anything I might add some Hit Points to one or both.
